About

Greetings, and welcome to KindaGayBlog!

My name is Sam. I have a YouTube Channel where I talk about coming out of the closet, dealing with depression, and learning how to be yourself.

I met my boyfriend online in November of 2009, while I was still closeted to my friends and family. He lived in Los Angeles, while I lived in Bible Belt America. I didn’t think our relationship would go beyond Skype because I didn’t know when, or if, I could come out.

But the support he provided gave me the courage to come out in February 2010, and three months later – with my family’s blessing – I quit my job and moved to Los Angeles to be with him.

Yep, I left everyone and everything I’d ever known and drove my car-full of belongings to the Golden State in true Hollywood fashion.

I then created this blog to show that there is life after coming out. It’s not always pretty, mind you. In fact, it can be downright terrifying. But if you want to grow as a person, you have to step outside your comfort zone.

  3. Greetings, old buddy! I was wondering where you’ve been. I just assume CA work have been keeping you busy and away from social media, but I’m happy to see you’re still around doing your thing. Hope we can hang out again sometime in the near future! I’m sure you have a lot of stories you could tell.

  4. Sam, I hope someday soon I can put into words how you and a few others, have helped me find a more balanced sense of thinking and living.

  5. I like what you’re doing. There’s a huge need for men to get things figured out. I want to share your blog on mine, but all I can find is the G+ icon. Guess I’ll just share the URL instead.
